Who doesn't love writing, or reading, a great meta post? What a great way to think deep thinkythoughts about your favorite fandoms? But how do we get readers to find it who aren't our regular DW followers? That's what Meta Warehouse is for!
RULES:
1. Don't be a dick. Don't flame, ship hate, or in other words be a bad fan or fan gatekeeper. Any abusive stuff, report to me (the mod).
2. Please tag your posts for canon and for any sexual or violent content, and especially SPOILERS.
How to handle spoilers:
Tag that your entry contains spoilers (First 30 days since release).
Title should not announce the spoiler.
Spoilers should be posted on the linked content, so someone visiting this community won't be inadvertently spoilered.
So, if Snoopy dies in Peanuts, I shouldn't post "My thoughts on Snoopy's Death"--that announces the spoiler, boo!! I should write up my sadness on my own DW, and the come here and post a link to my own DW, with a spoiler warning.
UNLESS, of course, DW has worked out good spoiler-text code that is works across layouts and works with most screenreaders--if so, let me know!!
What can we post here?
The idea is for us to post our own fannish meta. You can post your write ups of shows--your response and thoughts about the latest episode/issue, etc, your rewatch notes, your ideas about canon in general--ya know, meta!
You can post links to other people's meta--or better yet, to your own post where you readalong and respond to that meta!
If you do livetweets of a show, hit the LIVETWEET link in the sidebar to advertise your livetweets!
What can't we post here?
Fanfiction, fanart, podfics--Who doesn't love these creative things? But they're not meta, and there's TONS of places for them to find readers.
Stuff that might be called 'news'--casting choices, scandals, series cancellations....unless you make them meta! In other words, as I write this, news is breaking that Daredevil season 4 has been cancelled. Posting a link to an article about it? NOT meta, no postie. Writing a post on my DW about how I feel about this? Meta! Post away!
New rules may evolve as we do!
